Staff Profile

Greg Gonsalez-Swaim

San Joaquin FARMS Leadership Program Coordinator

Greg grew up on the outskirts of southeast Bakersfield, in Kern County and although he lived in the “country,” it wasn’t until his freshman year of high school where he was truly introduced to agriculture through the FFA program. It was in high school that his passion for agriculture took shape. From raising and showing sheep at the Kern County Fair to competing at the state level in various FFA contests; from sales to public speaking, his love for agriculture quickly grew.

Greg is a graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Agriculture with an emphasis in Education. Upon graduating from Cal Poly, he moved back to Bakersfield and took a job working for the Target distribution center in Shafter. Although not directly involved in agriculture through his work, he continued to volunteer his time at various high schools, where he helped mentor and coach several students and FFA teams; winning several state titles.

When Greg moved to Tulare County he knew that he wanted to get back involved in agriculture education. He looks forward to working with students and helping them develop leadership skills and introduce them to agriculture through the FARMS Leadership Program!
