Central Valley Youth Employment Program
Participants residing in underserved and low to moderate income communities will have the opportunity to work with industry professionals to learn about opportunities in agriculture while gaining job skills and employable advantages when seeking jobs or starting businesses. Through program workshops and field trips participants will be exposed to various jobs in agriculture and assist them in choosing a career path that contributes to the overall economy in their communities.
The Agricultural industry and the businesses that participate in this program benefits greatly because they have the unique opportunity to invest in the future pipeline of skilled employees for their companies. They will have input into identifying the skill sets needed and contribute directly to pre-employment training through this project. Industry partners will also be working with the participants in the program and will be able to hire them to fill positions.
The communities where the project is held will also benefit from the program because local jobs will be filled with local youth.
