Farm start for Aspiring Farmers

Ready to turn your farming dream into something real? Join Farm Start for a four-day, boots-on-the-ground dive into what it takes to launch your own farm business. With hands-on activities, a farm field trip, and down-to-earth guidance, you’ll explore your interests, uncover your strengths, and map out the resources you’ll need to move forward with confidence.

wELDING 101

All are welcome to learn how to weld in our newly remodeled welding shop at our headquarters in Woodland.

Whether you’re a farmer who wants to practice the basics of welding, or learn to weld for home or business, we are proud to make this community resource available. You’ll get experience using an arc welder and an oxy-acetylene torch. Small class size allows ample opportunity for personalized learning and instruction.

Seed starting & Greenhouse basics

This is a hands-on, three-class course for beginning growers covering seed selection, sowing, watering, light, and greenhouse basics. Meet one Saturday per month to build skills from seed to transplant-ready plants.

Learn to confidently choose seeds, sow properly, manage water and light, and troubleshoot common issues in a supportive learning environment.

Class 1: February 21, 1:30-4pm
Class 2: March 14, 1:30-4pm
Class 3: April 11, 1:30-4pm
