Farming, Agriculture and Resource Management for Sustainability (FARMS) is established as a stand-alone high-school education program.

2001

CLBL breaks ground on a new 30-acre headquarters at The Maples Farm in Woodland, California, providing field and classroom learning space for programs and the community.

2021
1993

The Center for Land-Based Learning becomes a formal nonprofit organization and launches a second initiative, the Student and Landowner Education and Watershed Stewardship Program (SLEWS).

2020

The Mobile Farmers Market Truck hits the road in West Sacramento, California, expanding the Community Food Program.

Speaker Series: May 15

You’re invited to our monthly Speaker Series events for pizza, libations and insights. On May 15th we’ll learn from UC Davis entomologists about how to control mosquito populations while protecting beneficial insects like dragonflies.

Special event for veterans

Join us on Friday, May 17 for Pizza for Producers, tailored specifically for veteran farmers or aspiring ones. Don’t miss this opportunity to network with fellow veteran farmers who share your experiences and aspirations. Hosted by AgrAbility at our HQ.

WElding 101 classes

Learn hands-on welding in our welding shop at our HQ. Instructor George Kimball instructs beginning welders in basic skills and techniques, using an arc welder and an oxy-acetylene torch. Space is limited to 5 students per class. Email info@landbasedlearning.org.
