Director of Operations
Jesus joins the Center for Land-Based Learning as Director of Operations where he will be responsible for business and management processes. As a former agricultural worker, Jesus is excited to work with CLBL contributing meaningful work to help uphold its mission.
Jesus grew up in Everson located at the foothills of the Cascade Mountains in Northwest Washington. Dairy farms, fruit orchards and berry fields are a key source of employment in the region. Before embarking in a career in business, Jesus worked in the harvest of blueberries and raspberries for Samson Farms and a local winery. There he learned to respect agriculture work and appreciate what nature offers.
He began his business career as Business Process Analyst and Housing Manager for Sea Mar Community Health Centers in Washington where he oversaw business functions and co-managed an $11 million project budget for the development of a low-income 43-unit apartment complex in Seattle. During the most recent five years of his career, he served as Operations Manager for The Salvation Army Seattle White Center Corps where he’s proud to have worked with underserved communities, successfully managing operations and contributing to program development.
A proud Husky, Jesus received his B.A. in Business from the University of Washington and completed an accounting certificate at North Seattle College. He enjoys spending time exploring new outdoor spaces with his wife and two young daughters and tries to catch as many Real Madrid soccer games as possible.
