Development & Communications Director
Rachel joined Center for Land-Based Learning in 2022 after a 15-year career in social services. Her lifelong passion for agriculture was cultivated as a child in Nevada County. While advancing her career in nonprofit leadership, Rachel owned and operated a cut flower and pasture grazed egg farm in Grass Valley, CA and acted as farm hand in her Father's melon operation. Raising chickens and ducks has always been one of her favorite farm duties.
Rachel also enjoys canning and entering both jams and pies in the fair! She brings a deeply rooted belief in sustainable and regenerative agriculture along with her years of nonprofit fundraising experience to CLBL. Named one of Congressman John Garamendi's Women of the Year in 2020, Rachel is excited to marry her innovative approach to development with CLBL's inspiring work to grow new farmers and foster an equitable food system in California! On and off the farm, Rachel is a Mom, spouse and daughter who loves bringing family together over a delicious home-cooked meal.
