Romi Wattenbarger

Kern FARMS Leadership Coordinator

Romi was born and raised in Bakersfield, California. Growing up she was active in showing livestock and playing soccer. Romi was involved in 4H showing at her local county fair and jackpot shows throughout California. She also played club soccer and was on varsity all four years of her high school career. She capped both of those passions off by being a team captain her senior year of high school and winning grand champion market goat at the Kern County Fair.

Romi graduated from California State University of Fresno where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education with a specialization in Animal Science. While attending CSU-Fresno Romi began breeding market goats and helping junior exhibitors with preparation for livestock shows.

Currently, Romi and her Fiancé Mike are managing their herd of 200 breeding does and selling market wethers for fair projects. Also, she is helping manage events for her family’s wedding venue. In her free time, she enjoys working out, playing with her dog Boots and spending time with family and friends. Romi is very excited to be the new Kern County FARMS Coordinator and bring all her Agriculture experience and knowledge to the youth of Kern County.
