Allie joined the Center for Land-Based Learning in December of 2021 as the SLEWS Program Manager eager to use her background in environmental restoration and education. She has worked in 4 different states across the country gaining important skills to empower the next generation. She received a B.A. in International Studies: Global Environment with a minor in Biology from Kenyon College in her home State of Ohio and her M.Ed. in Science Education from the University of Washington. Leading the Student & Landowner, Education & Watershed Stewardship program in Northern California she supports high school students in their learnings about their local environment, exposing them to college and career opportunities in the field of environmental science.
As an educator Allie works to ensure her students have the opportunity to express their identity and experience hands-on education that utilizes their prior experiences. She hopes to empower students to advocate for themselves and others, becoming critical thinkers, stewards of their environment, and strong community members. During her free time she enjoys exploring the outdoors, and getting to know more about California. Along with hiking, she also has a passion for cooking, reading, and gardening.
