Carly joined the Center for Land-Based Learning in July of 2024 as the Kern FARMS Program Coordinator. Carly was born and raised in the Sierra Nevada Foothills of California where she was raised on a small family owned and operated cattle ranch. Her background instilled a love and a passion for the Agriculture Industry. Starting at the age of 9, Carly quickly found a love for raising and showing livestock through 4-H. Her love grew with each year, eventually allowing her to flourish in her local FFA Chapter where she ran, managed and operated her own flock of show lambs. Her time with Mariposa FFA, allowed her to earn her Greenhand Degree, Chapter Degree, State Degree and her American Degree.
Her passion for the Agriculture Industry pushed her to attend California State University Fresno where she received her Bachelors of Science in Agriculture Education. While at Fresno State, Carly was very active in the Agricultural college from being a member of the Ag Ambassadors group, Field Day Committee and FFA State Conference Committee. She also worked on the University farm giving tours to local elementary schools. Which essentially fueled her passion for Agriculture Education. Upon graduating, she worked as a High School Agriculture Teacher from 2017-2024 before making the move to the Center for Land Based Learning.
Carly believes that the future of Agriculture lies in the hands of our youth and it is our job to educate and teach the youth to be leaders and advocates for the industry.
