Nicole joined the Center for Land-Based Learning in May 2022 after graduating from UC Davis with a Bachelors of Science in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems. She was inspired to enter this field because of her deep roots in California Agriculture. Her family were migrant farm workers through the Sacramento Valley before establishing themselves in Northern California, where Nicole was born and raised. The Curiel’s have been farming table olives in the North State for the past twenty years and have grown their operation to include walnuts and almonds as well.
Nicole’s passion for California agriculture and education also fostered an interest in experiential learning, so she’s very excited to use her experiences and background to connect with farmers and aspiring apprentices across the state! Outside of work Nicole loves attending concerts (country and Spanish rock are her favorites)! She also enjoys spending time outdoors whether that means hiking, paddle boarding, or fishing the Sacramento River.
