Serena was born in Redmond, Oregon and moved to Palm Dale, California in 1999 where she finished high school. After a career in client services and benefit support that took her to Marin and Pleasanton, Serena moved to West Sacramento in 2020 where her family had relocated. She loves the community and cultural diversity she has found in Yolo and Sacramento Counties. Since moving here, she has begun to explore her passion as a food artisan and craftsman, becoming a certified herbalist and creating a line of remedies that heal from within.
Her love for agriculture led her to the Center for Land-Based Learning and her interest to better connect farmers to their local communities. She graduated from the Center for Land-Based Learning’s Community Food Ambassador Program in 2023 and now is training Ambassadors in the program. She loves working in her backyard garden and cultivating herbs, produce and flowers that she grows for family and neighbors.
